Stephen Frears and Jacques Audiard were the guests of the first real edition of "My Beautiful Festival". Philippe Pilard, an expert of the British cinema and director himself of several films about the English cinema, had joined us and showed his latest documentary about Stephen Frears. He also lectured on the British cinema. A high-quality programme at the Cyrano Theatre with previews or unseen films which enabled one to compare the British and French cinemas, together with a touch of music with the festive Tafta Quatuor who were also on. The festival was well announced by the local press and France Bleue Perigord devoted several hours time to it. The audience was there although the summertime was not the best time for staying in dark rooms.! And of course open-air festivities were very popular. |

An evening on the theme of entertainment as both were comedies, a way of pointing two different types of humour on the two sides of the Channel. They were followed by an open -air concert by the Bumbledee Band and a cold buffet and bar which ended the night in a festive ambiance. Many people could not be admitted... |
