Suite à l'hommage rendu au mois de mai l'année dernière à Jacques Tourneur à l'Auditorium de Bergerac, l'équipe de My Beautiful Festival, en accord avec la mairie de Bergerac, a décidé, de pérenniser un rendez-vous au mois de mai, que nous appellerons "My Beautiful Hommage". Nous y rendrons hommage à des réalisateurs du patrimoine, tantôt français, tantôt britannique. Cette année, il sera donc consacré à un réalisateur britannique et aura lieu les 27 et 28 mai 2011. |

BERTRAND TAVERNIER'S TRIBUTE The tribute paid to Jacques Tourneur on 28 and 29 May was a tremendous success. Bertrand Tavernier, who was present throughout all five screenings, masterly communicated his enthusiasm for Jacques Tourneur's oeuvre to a large audience. Jacques Tourneur made a brilliant career in Hollywood before retiring in Bergerac.With his acute sense and knowledge of the craft of film-making, Bertrand Tavernier captivated a Bergerac audience who were privileged to discover the work of an authentic and talented artist as well as a generous and nostalgic filmmaker. Bertrand Tavernier will have inspired many people to know more about Jacques Tourneur's films and rush up and acquire his DVD collection. Many thanks to Bergerac Council for having helped to support My Beautiful Festival with this special tribute to Jacques Tourneur. |
